We place specific focus on providing services for advanced or alternative types of septic systems with particular emphasis on aerobic treatment units (ATUs). The State of Georgia requires that properties with ATUs have a three-year service and maintenance arrangement in place after the date of the initial installation of these types of systems. This three-year service requirement mandates that the system and all component parts be checked at least once every six months for proper operation. After this initial three-year period, servicing and maintenance of these systems can be done on an “as needed” basis or the property owner can choose to purchase an annual on-going service contract from a certified company. The manufacturer of ATUs as well as state and county environmental health regulators recommend that property owners with these types of systems purchase an annual service contract to ensure proper performance of these units to minimize potential long term repair cost that may be required if the ATUs are not properly maintained on a regular basis. Systems left unattended will eventually lead to full system failure. 

Alternative Septic Management Inc. has completed the State of Georgia and manufacturer required advanced training to obtain the necessary licensing and certification to work on ATUs and other types of advanced systems. Only a very small percentage of all companies who are licensed to install septic systems have completed this additional training and have the necessary certification to maintain these systems.
